Summary
The announcement presents the Ecclesiastical Museum (Leondarideios School of Boys' Dedeagats) of the Holy Metropolis of Alexandroupolis, the museological concept and some of the relics of its collection. The relics were brought to Alexandroupolis by refugees during the population exchange in 1922. Most of them come from Aenos (Enez), but also from other cities of Eastern Thrace. They are offerings of eponymous devotees and professional groups to the churches of the region and were created during the 17th-19th centuries by well-known local artists. The announcement is a humble memorial to the refugees of Alexandroupolis, who with sacrifices, efforts and dangers transported the relics from their ancestral homes to the churches and houses of their new homeland, from where the relics finally found a place in the Ecclesiastical Museum.
